五旬節主日，也是聖神降臨節。 每年在這一天的彌撒中，都會詠唱或誦讀繼抒詠。
禮儀來說，繼抒詠在讀經二之後，福音前歡呼之前進行。
繼抒詠的由來
繼抒詠的歷史尤久，始於十世紀，極盛於十二世紀，高峰時期達五千首之多！
梵二後大量刪減，只保留了復活節和聖神降臨節的繼抒詠。演譯方式可以是詠唱或誦讀。新禮儀規定在福音前歡呼以前詠唱。頌恩歌集第 626 首懇求主聖神降臨是五旬節繼抒詠，可用於五旬節主日 (聖神降臨節)。
五旬節繼抒詠的內容主要是歡欣詠讚耶穌聖體聖血的緣起、意義、神學和信理。
